• I learned that there were many uprisings and rebellions due to colonization.
• I learned that the Suez Canal had just as big an impact on today as it did then.
• I learned that the ways that an empire could control a colony.

2 Things I Found Interesting-

• I found it interesting that companies, such as Dole Fruit and East India Trading, could have control over other nations.
• I found it interesting that people weren't concerned about the causes for disease enough to develop a germ theory before.

1 Question I Still Have-

• If the Suez Canal was controlled by one nation, did that nation use it to its advantage and try to weaken its enemies economy by not allowing them to use it? Did it play a huge role in the military at any time?
